Namibian Launch

Edulution has officially launched in Windhoek, Namibia! It took a lot of courage, resilience, collaboration and passion from the Edulution team, and we are excited to announce the opening as a success! On Monday 11th March 2019 we opened 2 centres and on Monday 18th March 2019 we opened our 3rd centre. Working alongside the Ministry of Education, Edulution was able to identify 3 schools in Katutura Community to pilot its program.

Katutura is now home to over 20,000 people who were re-located in the 1950’s when their original homes were converted to a suburb. The selected Primary schools Namutumi, Hillside and Augeikhas opened to nearly 750 learners who were thrilled to welcome the tribe to their community.

Left, happy learners from Namutumi Primary School begin their sessions with the maths workout aimed to assist them in perfecting their timetables.

With the support from the Happel Foundation and our existing Zambian organisation, our Namibian team have been able to accomplish a number of ground-breaking tasks to get the new centres open:

  • Recruited and trained a team of entrepreneurial and innovate Namibian coaches.

  • Built and strengthened a relationship with all stakeholders including parents, teachers and head teachers at a drive to encourage consistent attendance.

  • Worked with the Namibian government to import all equipment including tablets and laptops.

Right, our newest Namibian coaches!

Overall, the team is elated to have this launch behind us and the centres running smoothly. The mission to open new centres in a new country has been a tremendous adventure that has allowed us to iterate, fortify and prove once again, that we are unstoppable.
